“I’m still having trouble believing that you did that,” Maggie said, scrutinizing me from across her desk. “Are you sure it’s what you want?”

“I’m sure.” Though I’d surprised even myself with the decision.

“It wasn’t just a spur-of-the-moment thing? Because I’m sure if you talk to them, you can take it back.”

I shook my head. “I don’t want to take it back. It’s what I want.”

Maggie nodded, but she was still watching me carefully. “I just never thought you’d leave the hospital.”

I leaned back in my chair, crossing my legs and smiling slightly at the sight of my red toenails peeking through the open-toe heels. “I’m not leaving it entirely. I’ll still take some shifts here or there when they’re short-staffed. I just figured that this way, I’ll have more time to spend with my husbands.” Lately, fifteen-hour shifts had seemed far too long to spend away from Cesare, Matteo, and Leo. “Besides, now I can wear something other than scrubs.”

Maggie returned my smile. “You look good. Not sure if it’s the pretty clothes or the near constant sex. It does tend to make a girl glow.”

    I laughed. “You should know.”

    “Now we both do.”

She was still smiling, but I didn’t think I’d alleviated all of her concerns. “I can do good here,” I said. “Plus, I like my new boss.”

Maggie raised her eyebrow. “Let’s hope you still say that a month from now. Some people seem to think I’m controlling to the point of being bitchy these days.”

I wondered who that was, because her men seemed to like her just the way she was. “You have changed—a lot. But to me, you’ve turned into a badass, not a bitch. And I think that badass was always there, but now you’ve got more opportunities to give her free rein. Like with this place.”

An hour earlier, I’d had the official tour of the domestic violence shelter that Maggie had founded and currently managed. It was more elaborate than I knew. From the outside, it looked like a modest structure next to her massive office building. But she and Julian had designed it from the ground up and looks were deceiving. It was actually a deceptively large complex where women on the run from abusive relationships could feel safe. They could also learn new skills, receive therapy, and have onsite education for their children.

And now, there would be a full-time nurse on staff. I knew I could do some real good here, and I wanted that. Maggie’s life had changed once she met her men. Now that I’d found the men I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, it was time to examine what I wanted out of other areas of my life, and this was the first step.

Maggie stood up. “Is there anything else you want to see before your first day tomorrow?”

“Nope. But I’m really impressed. You’ve done so much here.”

Her cheeks pinked as she smiled. “Thanks. I wanted to do something good with the money I inherited.”

    “And you have.”

She walked me out and I felt important in my business attire. Our heels clicked on the linoleum floor as we approached the entrance.

“You need to turn in your visitor’s badge, Ma’am,” the security guard said as we neared.

    “But I work here now.”

“You’ll be given a permanent badge in the future,” Maggie explained. “In the meantime, don’t challenge the security. They don’t mess around.”

“Oh really?” I took a step closer to the new guard. He stood his ground and watched me approach. “He’s kind of cute, you know.” I moved into his personal space, and he caught me by my upper arms. That didn’t stop me from rising on my toes and kissing him right on the lips.

His arms went around me as he returned the kiss with enthusiasm. After a few moments, Maggie cleared her throat.

“Sorry,” I stepped back, winking at Leo.

“No you’re not,” Maggie said, but she sounded amused.

“We’ll be good once she’s an official employee,” Leo said. He looked so hot in his uniform. And for once, I didn’t mind seeing the gun on his hip—it was there to protect, not intimidate.

Though Maggie’s men provided security to the outer office building, Leo was on the only male security guard allowed into the shelter itself. Many of the women here were terrified by men, which was understandable, but Leo was so charming that they didn’t seem to mind him. Plus, his youthful look didn’t hurt.

I was proud of him. Here he, Cesare, and Matteo had finally gotten the position they wanted in the shadowy world they inhabited. They were part of a larger unit and working for good men like Rocco—yet Leo had agreed to work here to keep women safe.

“Are you headed home?” he asked.

“Yes.” Ever since we’d gotten back from Vegas, we’d all started spending most nights at Cesare’s place. His apartment wasn’t huge, but he had a California King bed which came in handy since there were four of us. Plus two bathrooms. Eventually, we’d find somewhere else to live, but for now, it worked well for us.

“I’ll be there in a few hours,” he said, his fingers grazing down my arm. “I think Cesare’s there now—he said something about you making him sandwich.”

I grinned though Maggie looked confused. “He wants you to make him a sandwich?”

    “Always.” I winked at Leo.

“Are you turning into a nineteen-fifties housewife?” Maggie asked.

“Well, I did tell you I was learning to make homemade pasta.” A cook who worked at Amanda’s had been teaching me.

    “Yeah, but a sandwich?”

I raised my hands up in the air in a gesture of surrender. “It’s what my men want.”

    * * *

An hour later, my makeup was smudged, my hair was a mess, and my bare skin was overheated. I buried my face in Cesare’s massive chest and kissed the ridge between his pecs.

Matteo hugged me from behind, his fingers splayed across my stomach.

“Best sandwich ever,” I moaned, and Matteo brushed my hair away from my neck and nuzzled my neck.

“How come you’re always in the middle and never one of the pieces of bread?” Matteo’s post-sex voice was low and lazy.

I laughed, but it was a weak sound. These guys had worn me out. “I think it works out better this way.”

“So do I,” Cesare growled. God, he sounded so hot when he was all spent from sex. Not that he wouldn’t be ready to go again soon—they both would. But it would be nice to wait for Leo. He deserved to be rewarded for how well he was doing his new job. He’d certainly handled me well today.

Cesare ran a hand over my bare hip. “Are you going to miss the hospital, sweetheart?”

“A little.” I sighed. “But it’s not like I’ll never go back there. Besides, strange men were always barging in there.”

Cesare chuckled, and Matteo pulled me back against his long, lean body. “I thought you liked it when men barged in… and out… and in again.” He slid his hand down over my mound and ran a finger along my slit. I was still a bit sensitive after having Cesare’s huge cock there moments ago, but I was getting used to feeling stretched and full. It turned me on like nothing else, but it wasn’t just about the size of my men.

It was about who they were. And the life we were building together.

It wasn’t a perfect life, and they weren’t perfect, either. But they were heading in the right direction. Rocco was showing them that it was possible to be involved in mob dealings without being a completely ruthless bastard. The job Leo had undertaken was proof of that.

It wasn’t the life I would have chosen for myself, but I couldn’t imagine it any other way. I’d fallen for Cesare, Matteo, and Leo, and I’d fallen hard. From here on out, I was part of their lives, and they were part of mine. And we had the resources and freedom to design the life we wanted.

At the moment, it was pretty easy to see what Cesare wanted. He put his hand under my chin, tilting my head up so that he could kiss me. At the same time, his cock nudged against my thigh, already hard again.

I moaned and Matteo’s nimble fingers teased my nipples. When I was finally able to draw back, I looked into Cesare’s dark eyes. “Shouldn’t we wait for Leo?” After all, he was doing a good thing.

“Probably,” Cesare said. His mouth descended on mine again.

Matteo ran his hand down my stomach, and then a long finger brushed across my clit. Instantly, I was lost in a haze of pleasure.

“I’ll tell you what,” he said softly in my ear. “When he’s back, Cesare and I will take off and give you two a couple of hours alone. And we’ll pick up something for dinner, too.”

Since my mouth was being thoroughly occupied by Cesare’s talented tongue, I could only nod.

“And Cesare’s paying,” Matteo added, as his hard cock ground against my ass.

Cesare didn’t respond until he had me whimpering from the intensity of his kiss. Then he pushed me onto my back as Matteo scooted over to make room.

I grinned as they hovered over me from each side, their hands stroking my body as I purred like a kitten. I definitely didn’t mind how many times these men wanted me sandwiched between them, because I wanted that, too.

The only thing more perfect would be tonight when all four of us were here. But first I had my one-on-one time with Leo to look forward to.

So yeah, I was probably going to start my new job walking a bit gingerly after so much incredible sex, but I sure as hell didn’t want it any other way.
